Narrative is a very, very big topic. It’s easier if you start with a question — what’s something you want to know, related directly to your work? Start googling, and research from that angle; if you try a direct and general approach you’ll too easily get lost.

Also, join the email list for the International Society for the Study of Narrative — it’s the most active list, and while you most likely won’t see a query directly related to yours you will get a useful view of the landscape by seeing the queries that come in.
